The instrument

Born from
conviction

Developed over more than five years of experimentation, the VR11 was the first instrument to feature the Resonant Plate System — the technology that would go on to define the entire SONO line.

Working side by side with renowned violinist and educator Giovanni Bobisse, every detail was refined through the direct experience of a performer. Built on real violin geometry for an unparalleled feel, the VR11 combines carbon fiber construction, mechanical pegs and classic fittings in a design conceived around precision, comfort and uncompromising elegance — while preserving the bow responsiveness and acoustic sensitivity that define the SONO approach.

Available in both 4 and 5 string configurations, the VR11 was among the first electric violins to integrate a wireless transmission system directly into the instrument itself — giving the performer total freedom of movement: no cables, no constraints, nothing between the musician and the stage.
