Resonant Plate
System

Each SONO instrument is based on the Resonant Plate System: a lightweight, dynamically responsive resonant element to which the strings are coupled through the bridge.

Like the soundboard of an acoustic instrument, the Resonant Plate is the acoustic heart of every SONO instrument — the element that defines the character, responsiveness and voice of the instrument.

This proprietary system introduces a level of acoustic responsiveness rarely associated with amplified string instruments. Without relying on resonant chambers, digital processing or complex electronic correction systems, SONO redefines sound at its physical origin: the vibrating structure itself.

The RPPS — Resonant Plate Piezo System — captures the natural voice of the instrument directly from the plate, before any electronic processing.

The result is an immediate, organic and dynamically expressive response that reshapes the relationship between the musician and the amplified instrument.
